Prepping for mother's day

It's Wednesday, and despite seeing all the fantastic craft ideas on the blogs out there for a couple of weeks now, it just occurred to me that Sunday is Mother's Day.  Not a couple of weeks from now Sunday, but THIS Sunday.  I have 24 hours to come up with and a fantastic craft that the daycare kiddo's can do.  As of today I have 2-2year olds and a 4 year old to direct in this activity!

It also occurred to me, after a phone call from Daddy Y saying he left his glasses at home, that we will be passing one of our favorite parks on the way, and since it is 1 year old's birthday, we should stop there on the way back for some special fun!  A great idea, right?  Sure why not.  I might get some good pictures for mother's day out of the deal too!

This leaves me with the afternoon napping to plan for a craft to execute tomorrow before two of the three are done for the weekend.

What will we do???  Gotta say I'm liking these footprint butterflies from Story Soup Kids.  Since the  kiddo's have been begging to paint this week they'll really enjoy that one.  As an added bonus, there's a Mother's Day poem to attach.  Lucky day!  And then there was this idea for cards from Aunt Peaches.  It's a great idea for photo confetti cards and it's fantastically simple!

Gotta run!

  1. Okay, BOTH of those ideas are just awesome! I would LOVE to get those from my kiddos, and they're both teens, haha. I say do em both. Have the kids make the butterflies and poems for their moms' walls, and cards for their moms' desks (at home or work). Yeah, it's a lot of work, but c'mon, moms are so worth it!

    1. Mom's are DEFINITELY worth it! LOL... unfortunately, I did not go purchase the CD envelopes last night. No practice for Cosmo and Amazing combined with Daddy Y being available to get Awesome from track meant I didn't leave the house. It was fantastic. We will be doing footprints this morning. I'll save the CD cover for Father's Day next month.

Wow, it's like I planned something a month in advance! (Wait, when is father's day??? loll)

Are you feeling the power of the comment because I sure am! Thanks for taking the time!
